Tinubu recalls all Nigerian Ambassadors, exempts UN Permanent Reps

President Bola Tinubu has recalled the country’s ambassadors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said. This is according to a statement by Alkasim Abdulkadir, the Special Assistant on Media and Communication Strategy to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar.

“Sequel to the inquiries on the letter recalling the Nigerian ambassador to the UK the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has reaffirmed that all career ambassadors and non-career ambassadors have been recalled on the instructions of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, ambassadors as representatives of the country they serve at the behest of the president and it’s his prerogative to send or recall them from any country,” the statement read.

But in a statement, presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, said “Nigeria’s United Nations Permanent Representatives in New York and Geneva be exempted from this total recall, in view of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, holding later this month”. He added that by the “directive of the President, the recall of the affected officers takes immediate effect”.

Earlier, Tinubu had recalled Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in January 2021. In a letter dated August 31, 2023, Tuggar stated that the decision signalled the end of Ishola’s tenure as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the United Kingdom. “By this communication, you are now expected to commence the process of winding down your affairs, and take formal leave of your host government within sixty days and to return to Nigeria by 31st October 2023 at the latest,” the document read.

“I seize this opportunity to express Mr President’s appreciation for the service you have rendered in your capacity as Nigeria’s Ambassador and Principal Representative in the United Kingdom. “While looking forward to welcoming you in Abuja on your return, please allow me to join Mr President in thanking Your Excellency for your exemplary leadership and service to Nigeria. I wish you God’s continued guidance in your future endeavours.”

I'm PDP Working For Tinubu, Not APC – Wike

The Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday, clarified that he is working for President Bola Tinubu and not the All Progressives Congress.

“I am not working for APC. I am working for Tinubu who have trust in me to help him deliver the renewed hope,” Wike said when he featured on Channels TV Politics Today.

He added, “I owe nobody any apology at all. I was in PDP and I worked for Ahmed Bola Tinubu to become the President of Nigeria.”

The PUNCH reports that controversy surrounded Wike’s reported APC membership after his name featured in the ruling party’s campaign council for the governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states on November 11.

This followed the denial, on Tuesday night, by the party of releasing the controversial documents containing notable names of chairmen, co-chairmen and members of the campaign councils for the governorship elections that went viral in the media and online platforms.

Asked if he is afraid if his party would take disciplinary actions against him, the former Rivers State governor responded: “Who is the party? Who are they?

“With all due respect, I have not seen that person who will suspend me. Nobody will do it. Who will discipline me? I should be the one calling for the discipline of these people who violated the party’s constitution. Who dare say they will suspend me? Who is the person?”

We Don't Want Military Takeover In Nigeria - Leave The Army Now If You'll Not Be Loyal To President Tinubu

Major General Mohammed Takuti Usman, who leads soldiers in the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, has told soldiers who are not faithful to their duties to leave their positions.

Usman said on Wednesday, August 30, that soldiers should be loyal to President Bola Tinubu and the leaders in charge. He also asked soldiers to be skilled and show strong faithfulness, starting with the President and going all the way up to the top leaders in the Armed Forces.

While speaking to soldiers at the 35 Artillery Brigade in Alamala, Abeokuta, Ogun State, the Nigerian Army leader mentioned that there are difficulties, but they are not unique to this particular brigade.

He said:
"When we're dealing with the difficulties and finding solutions, you must be well-behaved soldiers, and you must be faithful soldiers.

"When I talk about faithfulness, your faithfulness should begin with the highest leader of the Armed Forces, who is the President. That comes first, and then it continues down the chain. Faithfulness to the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, and all the way to your Brigade Commander.
"You have to be faithful. There is no place for soldiers who are not faithful to the leaders in charge, no. If you're not planning to be faithful, then it's better to leave and find other work. Because the Armed Forces cannot accept it if you're not faithful.

"Good behavior, loyalty, and being really skilled. We carry weapons so that other people can sleep peacefully and do their regular activities. You also need to be diligent. When you go on any training, make sure you do your absolute best and be among the top performers. If you have all these qualities, you will advance in this job."

This is happening as reports of military takeovers are spreading across African countries, with the latest being Gabon.

Closing up the week with 2 newly constructed ponds.
The Pointers as promised !
Fish Farming is not a fast money venture !
1. Do your research visit fish Farms , engage an expert with practical know how there a lot of half baked experts with no practical experience !
2. Site the place of construction and do your soil analysis
4. water source and amount of water because you need to know how long it will take to fill up your ponds
5. Plan your operation medium to long term so you know how many ponds you’d like to excavate.
6. Don’t start small work with the smallest possible unit or number of fish to make a profit then gradually scale your operation I learnt the hard way on this one !!
7. Excavation or man Power ? I’d opt for excavation because it is quicker and you can dig out the ponds you won’t fill up in advance to save costs of bringing in an excavator twice
8. Get expert help a consultant or attend extremely practical and intensive trainings for yourself and your team
9. Smaller ponds are easier to manage in terms of water quality and uniform growth
10. Understand what you are getting yourself into hence it’s important to get training. You will save yourself from mistakes that will cost you
11. Fertilize your ponds either with fresh poultry manure from caged birds or synthetic fertilizers I’d opt for manure !
12. Understand fish feeding before stocking your ponds so you don’t over feed and under feed
13. The most important water quality management with the use of an aerator
14. Ensure to have all the necessary gear and accessories!!
