Di General Council of di World Trade Organisation (WTO) don re-appoint Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as Director-General for a second four-year term.

Dis re-appointment dey come afta a consensus agreement say make Okonjo-Iweala continue as DG for second term wey go begin for 1 September 2025.

According to di Council, di decision reflect broad recognition of her exceptional leadership and strategic vision for di future of di WTO.

During her acceptance speech, Okonjo-Iweala say na privilege to serve for di position again.

“I dey deeply honoured by di trust and support of di WTO General Council and di 166 Members. Na privilege to continue to dey serve as Director-General for a second four-year term,” Okonjo-Iweala tok.
