BREAKING: Reps Summon Rivers Sole Administrator Ibok-Ete Ibas

The House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on Rivers State has summoned the state’s Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.), to appear for an interactive session on Thursday.

According to a statement by House Spokesman Akin Rotimi on Wednesday, the session will be held at 4 p.m. in Room 414 of the House of Representatives New Building at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

The invitation follows the inauguration of a 21-member oversight committee led by House Leader Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, after the National Assembly endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s proclamation of a state of emergency in Rivers State.

Ihonvbere said the session aims to assess the situation in the state and guide the House in fulfilling its oversight duties.

President Tinubu recently declared a state of emergency in Rivers amid ongoing political turmoil, suspending Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and members of the state assembly. Ibas was subsequently appointed as the state’s Sole Administrator.
