Step-by-step guide for documents required for BIS certification in India
Step 1: Submission of Applications and Fee
Start with the Main Application Form V and attach to it the evidence of having paid the ISI application fee. This is what forms the basis of your registration process at BIS.
Step 2: Reports of Product Testing
Present an up-to-date test report of a laboratory that is BIS-recognized or empanelled. As a test report, it should be reported that it is in accordance with the relevant Indian Standard. The internal lab reports are not accepted.
Step 3: Factory and Manufacturing Documents
Show the history of presence and functioning of your manufacturing unit. This includes:
Registration of tax or factory license (evidence of unit address)
Plant and location diagram of the factory plan.
Flow chart of manufacturing.
Present capacity of production, machine requirements, and raw material data.
Step 4: Technical and Quality Control Records
BIS is associated with the heavy paperwork of the quality and control of products. This includes:
Product drawings Calibration status is incorporated in testing devices.
Quality control staff information (qualifications, designation, and experience)
Managing poor product processes.
Step 5: Organizational and Legal Documents
Submit a factory organizational chart and trademark registration (where necessary). Regulatory agencies and packaging information should be issued in the form of certificates.
Step 6: Requirements of Foreign Manufacturers
The additional steps will be taken in case this factory is not located in India.
The manufacturer must:
Designate an Authorized Indian Representative.
Apply to several applications and documents.
Grant a Bank Guarantee
Prepare inspections, translators, and logistics of testing.
