Prepare your system / prerequisites

Clone the Janus/DeepSeek repository
Use Git to fetch the codebase from the official DeepSeek/Janus repo.
Set up an isolated environment
Create a Python virtual environment (or use conda) so that dependencies don’t conflict with your system or other projects.
Install dependencies
Use pip install -r requirements.txt (or similar) to install PyTorch, transformer libraries, and other required Python packages.
Download the model weights
The Janus Pro model (e.g. 1B or 7B variant) must be downloaded—either from Hugging Face or another model hub.
Configure / adjust code if needed

Run the application / inference server

Test & use
Try uploading images, asking questions about them, or generate images from text prompts to confirm everything is working.
