3A HoopTalk Notebook: Benjamin Franklin vs Seton Catholic Prep

A couple top teams in 3A boys basketball went at it at a neutral site Thursday night so I had to check it out alongside Prep Hoops’ Gregg Rosenberg. There’s plenty of talent between the Benjamin Franklin and Seton Catholic Prep rosters and it was on display. BF is led by sophomore point guard Bennett Christensen and for a guy playing with upperclassmen, he knows how to balance commanding the basketball and getting his teammates involved.

They are the result of a deep dive into the analytics, an assessment of subjective factors and, when necessary, flips of the coin. No conference has more parity. Wilner AP preseason All-American team: Clemson’s Klubnik, Ohio State’s

Only three teams from the western third of the country were included Monday in the Associated Press preseason Top 25 rankings. The AP’s preseason All-American team is expected to be released early next week and could reflect similar skepticism over the quality of talent across the region. The Hotline encountered that very issue last week when crafting our ballot.
