The Federal Executive Council has approved new road and bridge projects across Nigeria worth ₦2.38 trillion. They also plan to release a breakdown of projects costing more than ₦10 billion in each state very soon.
The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, shared this after Thursday’s meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, led by President Bola Tinubu.
Some of the major projects include:
• Abuja Road Section I (118km) – ₦286 billion
• Abuja Road Section II (164km) – ₦502 billion
• Abuja–Kano Road (72km) – ₦450 billion
• Nembe Bridge – ₦156 billion
• Sokoto–Badagry Corridor, Section 2 to Kebbi (228km, three lanes) – ₦961 billion
They also approved additional funds for two projects:
• An extra ₦11.42 billion for the Lagos–Shagamu–Ijebu-Ode–Ore road
• ₦8.94 billion more for project changes in Niger State
