It is important to understand how to calculate your Cumulative Grade Point Average or CGPA in order to keep track of your academic performance. Generally, CGPA is computed by summing up the grade points for all courses taken by a student over his or her period of study. Every course has a particular point value assigned to it depending on the grading system applied in the institution and may be on a range of 0-4 or 0-5.
