Modern Warfare 4's beta is giving players far more than a quick multiplayer sample. The first weekend carries a level cap of 20, rising to 30 during weekend two. A Cleaner Technical Setup

This test will be downloaded separately from Call of Duty HQ, which should make installation less confusing. The full release returns to the shared hub with Warzone and Black Ops 7 on October 23, 2026. Restart prompts after data updates are being reduced on PlayStation 5, Steam, and Battle.net. Xbox Series X and S and Switch 2 will still require restarts. PC users also get tray-based shader preloading, so much of the compiling work can happen before the game opens.

Progress and Beta Rewards

Time spent playing won't feel empty. Reaching level 20 unlocks the Dread Tiger Operator Skin for Reece, while level 30 awards the Beta Forged ISO Nightshade Weapon Blueprint. Twitch viewers can collect extra cosmetics by watching Call of Duty: Next on August 21 for up to 45 minutes, or by viewing participating creators. Secret classified tasks add another reason to explore every mode rather than sticking with one familiar playlist.

PC Requirements and Platform Changes

Older consoles aren't included this time. Modern Warfare 4 supports PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
