In an earlier announcement, developer Grinding Gear Games confirmed that Path of Exile will introduce a "controller-supported beta" once patch 3.17.3 goes live in the coming days. After the patch, PC players can connect any gamepad and change the input method to "Gamepad (Beta)" in the game input options, which will greatly speed up the speed at which they can earn POE Exalted Orb.
However, inbound controller support is only available for Path of Exile on Steam. The feature will remain unavailable in games on the Epic Games Store, presumably until its beta status is removed. And this controller support feature will remain in beta until the 3.18 expansion pack is released, during which time there may be issues.
Path of Exile can technically support controllers on PCs externally. Some streamers do use third-party tools to use controllers on Steam by mapping their controls to Xbox controllers. Once native controller support rolls out for games on PC, these will no longer be required.
The developers now hope to release a Path of Exile 2 beta as early as sometime in 2023. Path of Exile 2 has seven acts, vastly improved visuals, and an overhaul of its core gem and passive tree systems. But this does not affect the current game progress of players, they still need to collect POE Currency, POECurrency is a website that sells POE Currency, players can Buy POE Currency here.
